'TOP 5 BOONDOCKING' - BADLANDS & WALL DRUG - RV SOUTH DAKOTA - RV FAMILY OF 7

We'll take you on an amazing trip near Wall, exploring a 'top 5' boon-docking spot in the US, and take in Wall's most famous store - Wall Drug. It's as close to the the 'perfect' place to go RV'ing as you can get.
Just found your family adventure, very neat thing you do just Dad & kids. We are from Wisco. too (clintonville) we also love & explore SD. often with our Gkids. keep making forever memories πŸ’ž
We're a family of 8 and prepping to leave on our journey and just discovered your channel. I see you like to boondock. How do you make your black tank last for more than a couple days without dumping? Also do you fill your fresh tank when you know you're going to be boondocking does it make towing a problem?

We make sure to do fast flushes and go when we’re out and about. That seems to help a lot. With the water, we usually fill up when we get near the destination. Like the Wall boondocking, we fill up at a park in Wall. Thanks for the comment!

I would suggest hats and eye protection when hiking in sun, especially when it is hazy, as the sun is magnified, but you don't feel it when it's cool. A bad sun burn or eye burn can ruin a trip. looks like great family fun.

Your such an awesome Dad, Nick! Great video!

Thanks Dean ! :)
lots of rattlesnakes in that area

Another great video!! I took my two boys to Badlands and Black Hills 12 years ago and have been wanting to go back ever since. I think this fall we will stop there on our way to SD from MN. God Bless!!
@theNickJolin 2019-07-16
Thanks Ken, yes, try to get out there! You'll have a blast!

Great video. I lived out that way (Ellsworth AFB/Rapid City area) nearly 50 years ago when I was your younger kids' ages. I loved it like they do, and still love it that much today! It's my favorite place. Just this week I started working on uploading ancient home movies my grandfather took back then. I am glad to have the grainy movies, but I am really glad you have the technology available so that your kids will have clear videos to watch when they are older.

Loved your tour and fun kids! I never forgot the Badlands as a kid, and I still love them. Plan to head west and likely stop there first in late summer. Were you on BLM land out there? I'll have to remember to drop bread crumbs. Starting to train cat to hike with me. 😸 thank you!

@@theNickJolin Thanks, and I'll look for the follow-up video! 😊 I've been saving videos like that to help guide me to some great spots in the future. Thanks again.

Yes, we were on the Wall BLM land. I plan on doing a detailed vid about the boondocking options in Wall and Badlands that shows a more detailed description of where we stayed. I remember the Badlands when I was a kid too - that's probably why it was the first place I thought of when I wanted a great place to go! Thanks for the comment!

A really cute show...we really enjoyed it. Thanks! Wife here asking about your wife. From all previous explorations it seems clear that Mum is camera shy. :)
@theNickJolin 2019-06-20
Thanks! I would say she is not completely camera shy, between me and those kids that want camera time, there isn't enough minutes to go around :)
Thanks Nick!! This is one stop that my wife and I will be making. We can't wait to boondock at that same location. Would love to meet up with you next year. Did you see any snakes while you were out and about? Did someone get into some cactus? Are they ok? Looks like everyone had a great time!
@@theNickJolin Next June sounds pretty good. The weather looked good on this video. Will keep following your channel. Maybe we can work out a date for next summer....
@theNickJolin 2019-06-20
Hey Frank! We didn't see any snakes, but we met a family that went on the same hike a couple days later and they DID! A rattler kept them from making it to the bottom. I'm really glad we didn't! Luke did put his hand on a cacti, but it was just a quick poke. Let us know when you are going to be out there!

WELCOME

Glad to have you with us!
